The Rutland Health Foundation hosts and assists a variety of fundraising events to benefit healthcare in the greater Rutland community each year. The Foundation is supported by individuals, organizations and businesses, who organize their own events, attend one of ours, volunteer their time, sponsor or participate by providing in-kind gifts such as auction items. Milky Way Organic Farm • June 21, 2008
The fourth annual Summer Fun Fair will be held on Saturday, June 21, 2008 to benefit the Rutland Area Visiting Nurse Association & Hospice. The fun-filled summer fair will be hosted by Milky Way Organic Farm and the Clark Family from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the farm on Route 133 in Ira, Vermont.
The event features games and activities for kids ages 2-8, cow plop bingo, tractor hay rides, music by Linda MacFarlane, Run Pulcer and Friends of Guitars in the Classroom, professional face painting, a petting zoo, yoga for children and a live auction. Texas Hold `em Tournament • June 27, 2008
The Blue Bulls Corporation will be hosting Texas Hold'em Tournament on Friday, June 27th to benefit Kids on the Move, Pediatric Rehabilitation Program. The tournament will take place at the Rutland Elks Club from 5 p.m. to 12 a.m. Buy-in is $75 with unlimited re-buys within the 1st hour. Add-ons are available at the end of the 1st hour. 25% rake goes to support Kids on the Move, 75% goes to payout. Cash bar and food available. Mary Wells Heath 5K Memorial Run/Walk • July 5, 2008
The 2nd Annual Mary Wells Heath 5k Memorial Run/Walk will be held Saturday, July 5, 2008 to benefit the Community Cancer Center at Rutland Regional Medical Center. Registration begins at 7:00 a.m. with the Race beginning at 8:30 a.m. Entry fee is just $20.00 with a free t-shirt to first 100 pre-registered participants. Registration will be held at the Town Green in Fair Haven, VT across from the fire station. Prizes will be awarded for winners in all age classes.
The event is held in honor of Mary Wells Heath, an athlete who had run over 30,000 miles in her life and lost her battle with cancer in 2006.

Petunia’s Birthday Breakfast • July 19, 2008
Join Petunia, Kids on the Move’s very own therapy pig for her birthday breakfast to be held at Applebees on Saturday, July 19th from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m.
Meet Petunia and have an enjoyable breakfast while supporting Kids on the Move pediatric rehabilitation program.

Dick Currier Memorial Softball Tournament • July 5, 2008
Batter Up! Softball teams in all leagues throughout Rutland County are encouraged to register for the 6th Annual Dick Currier Memorial Softball tournament, sponsored by Pine Hill Coffee and to benefit the Community Cancer Center at Rutland Regional Medical Center.
The 2-day tournament will take place August 23rd and August 24th at the Northeast School Field in Rutland. Early registration entry fee for each team is $185 if registered by August 1st. Registration fee for teams registered after the early deadline will be $200.00. Official tournament information can be found on the tournament website at dcmemorial.net.
The tournament was started in memory of Dick Currier who died in 2002 after a courageous battle with cancer. The event has raised nearly $10,000 in the past five years. 15th Annual Rutland Health Foundation Golf Invitational • September 19, 2008
One of the areas most sought out tournaments with a limited playing field for optimum enjoyment. Held at the beautiful Rutland Country Club, activities include: Captain and Crew format, breakfast, on course lunch and award reception.
Since its inception, the Golf Invitational has raised over $400,000 in support of: Kids on the Move, Maternal Child Health Education Program, The Going Home Program and Bridges and Beyond. For sponsorship information, or information, please call Bernadette Robin at 802.747.3634.

6th Annual Rutland Health Grand Parada • May 9, 2008
Our sincere appreciation to the sponsors, committee members, volunteers and guests who supported the Rutland Health Foundation’s 6th Annual Grand Parada on May 9, 2008. This fun Caribbean themed event recognized one of the Rutland community’s outstanding physicians, Dr. Kirk Dufty and honored our donors and sponsors who support quality health care for individuals throughout Rutland County.
Proceeds from the Grand Parada support our communities most urgent priorities including, support of the Diabetes Program at Rutland Regional Medical Center, the Pediatric High-Tech program at Rutland Area Visiting Nurse Association & Hospice and staff education at the Community Care network.
Everyone who supported this year’s event through sponsorships, in-kind donations and ticket purchases made a significant and immediate impact on health care within our community. Thank you for making it such a memorable evening.
